Notice on Adjustment of Visa Application

1.  As of September 2, 2013, the Visa and Passport Office will launch the 2013 edition of the "Visa Application Form of the People's Republic of China".  The new form has been posted at the website of the Consulate.  The new application form must be completed by a computer and should be clearly and completely printed out on letter-sized paper.  Incompletely filled-out forms, hand-written or altered forms are not accepted.

2.  As of September 1, 2013, the visa application requirements of the People's Republic of China will be adjusted.  To ensure smooth submission of the visa application, please click here to check visa application requirements and to get all necessary paperwork before submitting your application.

Notice from NYC Chinese Consulate dated April 19 and effective April 23, 2012:

  1. The only visa applications that will now be accepted for processing are from those residents from Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
  2. Non-US citizens should apply for a visa in their home countries, unless they can provide evidence of legal residence in the U.S., such as a Permanent Resident Card, work or student visas along with proof of student or employment status, such as I-20, OPT or HIB approval.  Please attach a copy of such evidence along with the visa application.
  3. The Visa and Passport Office will launch the new edition of the "Application Form of Notarization/Legalization of the Embassy/Consulate of the People's Republic of China" (G-1 Form).  Please ensure that the new form is completed, signed, and submitted.
